Cambridgeshire Self Sufficiency Group meets on the first Thursday of every month.
During the winter months we usually meet at the King Edward Community Centre in Chatteris.
During the summer months we are out and about, visiting members gardens and places of interest.
We try and hold workshops during the year, this could be about hedgelaying, basket making, sausage making or even Fungi hunting!
During the year we visit various local shows and open days to promote our group and our aims.
Our annual 'Potato Day' in February is open to everyone and you are able to purchase seed potatoes at a very reasonable price (far cheaper than in the shops!). We try to have a range of over 30 varieties from the more popular types to some of the more unusual.
The monthly Newsletter keeps members in touch with each other. It is produced every month with articles and pictures contributed by members. The editor, Anne Billings-Smith, always welcomes items for inclusion.
You can download some past issues to read.
We hold open committee meetings several times a year and invite members to attend to help in the planning of the group.
